This is an ancient Ayurvedic dish from India that is full of warming and balancing spices and supports healthy digestion! Vella at Soma Ashram utilizes ingredients chosen with the highest level of care, including sustainably-grown spices that support farmers.
Kitchari kits include split mung beans, basmati rice, and a spice packet (ginger, brown mustard seed, cumin, coriander, turmeric, ajwain, fenugreek, mineral sea salt). All spices are ethically-sourced, organic, non-GMO, and non-irradiated, and have been tested for heavy metals. While we cannot guarantee a gluten free kitchen, all kitchari kit ingredients and spice packs are gluten free.
Kit includes instructions for preparation and here you can watch a full video tutorial explaining what kitchari is and how to prepare it! Kitchari can easily be made in a pot on the stove (a dutch oven works great) or in an Instant Pot or pressure cooker.
