Ingredients:
- pizza dough mix
- 4-5 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 8 oz ricotta
- 1 lb fresh mozzarella, sliced into rounds
- 2-6 cloves garlic, minced (depending on how much garlic flavor you prefer)
- 1/4-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (depending on how much you like)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- handful of fresh basil
- Parmesan (optional)
- OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: onions, tomato slices, baby spinach or arugula, olives, etc.
Directions:
- Prepare pizza dough according to package directions.
- While dough is stretched on the pizza pan and rising the second time, preheat oven to 500 degrees.
- Mix minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt into the ricotta. If the ricotta is too thick to be spreadable, add 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- Once dough is ready, dollop and spread the ricotta on the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch crust along the outside.
- Cover the ricotta with mozzarella rounds.
- Distribute basil leaves over the top of the pizza.
- Bake for 14-16 min until crust is nicely browned and cheese melts and starts to brown.
- Slice and enjoy hot!
